The Northwest GIS User Group (NWGIS) is offering a mentorship program for geospatial professionals within the first five years of their career. The goal is to provide an opportunity for involvement and leadership in the GIS community with support from NWGIS peers. Maybe you are fresh out of college, or maybe you are starting your second career. This mentorship is not intended for students actively working toward a GIS, or related, degree. The NWGIS Board selects one mentee a year.
The mentorship runs for ten months; Mar-Dec. The selected mentee is not a voting board member but will provide input on active discussions and decisions the board is working on. Applicants need to be able to attend monthly board meetings via video conference on the first Thursday of each month form 1:00pm-2:00pm (Pacific) / 2:00pm-3:00pm (Mountain).
The selected applicant will present a short presentation on their experience at the fall conference. The mentee will receive free conference registration, but is responsible for their own transportation and lodging. The mentee will also provide assistance to conference planners at the fall conference.
Applications for 2024 will be accepted to March 1st. We are requiring a current resume; preferably in a PDF format no larger than 10MB.
